For this moduleβs project we collaborated with De Museumfabriek to create an accessible digital sign system. The project involved redesigning standard signage and implementing text-to-speech functionality using the Web Speech API.
The system features:
- Noise Cancelling Headphones: Mounted on a stand for easy access
- Automatic Activation: Removing headphones reveals an interactive button
- Text-to-Speech: Converts displayed text to audio for visually impaired visitors
- Public Space Focused: Designed specifically for museum environments
